ADHD Community

Hey friends,

I hope you're enjoying these summer months, wherever you are!

Soon, my kids will finally be free from school for summer break. Is there anything better than summer break as a kid?

I'm also looking to have a small vacation of my own.

Some much needed relaxation time is in my future thanks to an upcoming sabbatical! As part of my break, I'm going to be taking a road-trip up and down the West Coast of the U.S.

I can't wait to see the beaches of Southern California again.

🏖️

I've been really blown away by the response on a community for ADHD Creatives.

Thank you everyone that responded!

In the past few weeks, I've been doing research on well-run communities and how I can do it right.

One thing I've learned about myself is communities with a direct purpose often hold my attention longer and keep me more engaged.

Having a clearly defined purpose helps drive participation.

With that in mind, I'm considering a few different options and I would love to hear your feedback:

Option 1: ADHD Productivity Course

Many successful communities these days are built around cohort-based courses. It makes sense: having a common goal helps maintain interest and fuels that dopamine that keeps us engaged and energized.

  • 4 weeks of live core training sessions with a cohort (1-3 per week), learning and sharing strategies for working with ADHD.
  • Community hub to ask questions, talk ADHD strategies, share your latest creations, and encourage each other.
  • Continued community between courses.

Option 2: Group Coaching Seasons

  • 4-6 weeks of group coaching with an ADHD coach.
  • Community hub to ask questions, talk ADHD strategies, share your latest creations, and encourage each other.
  • Continued community between group coaching sessions.

Option 3: Just the Community

  • Community hub to ask questions, talk ADHD strategies, share your latest creations, and encourage each other.

I'd love to hear your thoughts! Simply reply to this email to let me know.

🎥💬 Makers.dev podcast on ADHD Last week I had the chance to hang out with Chris and Christian to discuss ADHD. Both hosts had recently discovered that ADHD was more than just "the school kid throwing glue in their classroom" and began to wonder if it might actually explain their own past behavior.

🎙🧠 ADHD Creative: Jens Lennartsson I also had a wonderful chat with Jens about the similarities in both his and my own story of discovering a friend who had ADHD, and how their symptoms sounded awfully familiar. It's a quick 9 minute chat you'll really enjoy.

📝🖌️ ADHD Fuels Creativity This atomic essay explores the unique properties of ADHD and how they are a perfect formula for creativity. We excel at creating new ideas, so what is it that fuels that creativity?
